Cold storage is one of the most important steps in protecting the beauty and value of your fur garment. George’s Furs stores garments in a secure, climate-controlled vault maintained at optimal temperature and humidity levels to help preserve both fur and leather throughout the warmer seasons.
Proper cold storage helps prevent the natural oils within the pelts from drying out, reducing the risk of tearing, cracking, and long-term damage. The cold storage season typically runs from after April 1st through December 1st, although it is never too late to protect your garments from warm-weather damage.

When your garment is at home, remove it from its garment bag and allow it to hang loosely in your closet without being compressed by other clothing. Fur garments naturally perform best in colder climates and may be worn regularly throughout the season.
Never place your fur or leather garment near direct heat sources, as excessive heat can damage the skins. If your garment becomes wet from snow or rain, gently shake out excess moisture and allow it to air dry naturally.
